Station 3 - Dupont Fire Hall

When members of the Dupont community wanted a fire station, they organized the Dupont Fire Hall Inc. and begin to raise money. They community was able to lease a piece of property from Sevier County for $1.00 a year and they constructed a fire station. The new department worked with the Seymour Volunteer Fire Department and soon realized that for the time being, it would be best to allow Seymour to continue to provide the fire protection. The building was sub-leased to the Seymour Volunteer Fire Department who purchased a truck and began to operate the station. The Dupont Fire Hall Inc. (DFHI) has continued to support the fire service and raise money for Station three. They have raised enough money to purchase the new truck pictured here, along with the brush truck pictured. It continues to be the DFHI goal to one day become a stand-alone community fire department. Until they are ready to step out on their own, Seymour will continue to provide and manage their fire service. Equipment housed at Station 3 was purchased by DFHI and is operated by SVFD.
