Station 2 - Jessie Tarwater Memorial Fire Station

Station 2 was opened in the mid 1980’s. Initially it was a leased facility that the department was using until property could be found to build a station. The man leasing the property to the department became friends with the firefighters and eventually allowed the department to use both buildings on-site. When Mr. Tarwater passed away, his wishes were to have the department remain on this property. The estate of Mr. Tarwater sold the property and buildings to the department at one-half the appraised value. Station Two (2) is dedicated to the memory of Mr. Tarwater. The Engine house was remodeled with a TV room, sleeping quarters and restroom added. The second building on-site is used for our reserve rescue truck and equipment storage. The station houses the following equipment:

  • Engine 504 Commercial Freightliner 1000 gallon 1250 gpm Class A engine
  • Support 516 Ford Explorer EMS First Responder Vehicle
